Sonoma Sound is the creation of William Paynter, a self-taught musician. It is the realization of a vision he had in the 1980's while living in the Republic of Panama, in Central America. The idea was and is, to create a musical tapestry woven with threads of Ambient, Blues, Dub, Latin and Reggae rhythms that blur the lines of musical category. It is a music cooperative which reflects not only solo compositions by its founder, but also collaborations with other musicians and singers. The philosophy of Sonoma Sound is that music is the most accessible form of art. It is also an international mode of communication that harmoniously and peacefully connects people regardless of age, race, language, culture, religion or geographical boundary. During the last 20 years of his musical exploration, William knew that one day his music would come forward. That time is NOW.
